We are now recruiting for a District Housing Manager to lead and shape the Tenancy and Estate Management Service across Newark and Sherwood. This is a key leadership role where you’ll make a real difference to the lives of our tenants and leaseholders.

As District Housing Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall performance and direction of the Tenancy and Estate Management Service, reporting directly to the Business Manager for Housing Services. You’ll ensure a responsive, needs-led and customer-focused service is delivered to all tenants and leaseholders living in our properties. This includes supporting tenancy sustainment, tackling anti-social behaviour, promoting engagement, and ensuring compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing consumer standards.

You’ll also deputise for the Business Manager for Housing Services and act as the key point of contact with partners on operational matters. To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong leadership skills, experience in housing management, and a passion for delivering excellent services that put residents at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be confident working a collaborative, solution-focused place-based approach with partners, managing teams, and driving service improvements that reflect our values and ambitions of being customer-led, inclusive, and community-minded.

We’re an ambitious, forward-thinking Council with strong values and a culture of doing our absolute best to serve our customers. We’re proud of our organisational culture and regularly receive positive feedback from our employees. From roadshows to our annual award ceremony, from reviewing working arrangements to our Hug in a Mug initiative, we make sure our employees feel valued and remain the beating heart of our workplace.

We offer:

  • Enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme
  • Flexi scheme
  • Hybrid working
  • A generous annual leave entitlement that increases with service
  • Family-friendly benefits
  • One day’s paid volunteering leave
  • Lifestyle benefits platform
  • Funded health cash plan
  • Free car parking*
  • £10/month gym membership at one of our four district gyms

You’ll be joining a professional, committed and experienced team who are passionate about supporting the delivery of our Community Plan.

For an informal chat or more information, please contact Julie Davidson, Business Manager for Housing Services, on 01636 655542.

*Free staff parking is valid until 30 June 2026.

As an employer, we promote an inclusive working environment and are committed to developing a forward-thinking and diverse workforce.
