    The Trading Standards Service is responsible for a wide range of consumer,
    business and environmental protection legislation which regulate the production,
    storage, marketing and supply of food, goods and services throughout the
    supply chain, and the behaviours of businesses that are based, or operate,
    within the County.

    The Opportunity

    Salary: £36,363 to £39,152 per annum (£22,112 to £23,808, pro rata for part time.

    Working Pattern: Part-time , 22.5 hours per week, flexible working patterns and part-time opportunities available

    Contract type: Fixed Term Contract (23 months)

    Location: Based at County Hall North, Chart Way, Horsham and hybrid working from home.

    As the Disclosure Officer for West Sussex Trading Standards, you will manage specific cases, working directly with investigators and Legal Services to ensure compliance with disclosure requirements.

    You will need to develop strong professional relationships, offering advice and guidance on disclosure and best practice.

    The role may involve handling complex investigations with large volumes of evidence and unused material, ensuring proper management in accordance with legislation.

    What are we looking for?

    • Previous experience in managing disclosure or evidence within a criminal or regulatory investigation setting.
    • Comprehensive understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and information management principles.
    • Able to work independently and handle a high volume of work within tight deadlines.
    • Experience of using electronic evidence management systems, case management platforms.
    • Good attention to detail and proficiency in record-keeping.
    • Proficient in the use of specialist IT packages, systems, and databases.
    • Ability to analyse information and make sound judgments regarding relevance and disclosure.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, competent in both written and verbal communications.
