Lightbulb is a partnership programme supported by the seven District Councils in Leicestershire. It brings together a range of practical housing support into a single point of access or referral. The overall ambition is to maximise the contribution that support can play in keeping vulnerable people independent in their homes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the team and support our residents with the process of applying for Disabled Facilities Grants. Your role will play a crucial part in improving our service users’ experiences. The individual appointed will be supporting Charnwood residents and will be based at the Charnwood Council Offices.

You will have previous experience of working within a support, care or housing setting, dealing with vulnerable people with a range of support needs. You will be undertaking basic assessments, support planning, carrying out action plans and reporting outcomes.

Ability to prioritise own workload, meet deadlines and produce quality services are essential, as are excellent customer services skills.

You must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and have a vehicle, full driving licence and business insurance to be able to travel around Leicestershire County in order to undertake duties.

Benefits of working with us include a Local Government Pension scheme, exciting career opportunities, flexible working including flexi-time scheme and out of town offices with free car parking and cycle bays. Further details on our benefits can be found on the Employee Benefits page

We also support hybrid working arrangements with a combination of on site and home working.

To find out more about the role and what it is like to work for us, please contact Katie Stretton on 07436924629 for an informal discussion.

Internal applicants can apply for this exciting opportunity via iTrent Employee Self Service (ESS). Once logged in, if you click on the person icon in the top corner of the home screen and then on ‘useful links’, another link will appear called ‘Apply for a Job’ (web recruitment).

Should you have any technical issues when applying, please email human.resources@blaby.gov.uk.

Closing date: Friday 17th July.

Interview date: Tuesday 28th July.

Blaby District Council is committed to equality of opportunity for all, and we welcome applications from all diversities.
