
Digital Project Manager

Coventry City Council’s Digital Services team is responsible for delivering key enabling and transformational services for the wider organisation, city and external partners. We support the day to day operation of the Council whilst also innovating and enabling the organisational transformation that is required.
Our Technology teams ensure that our core technology offering meets the needs of the organisation whilst planning and innovating our technology road map to keep the Council and wider city fit for the future.
Our Digital Delivery teams comprise customer and change functions that ensure we continually understand the overall organisational and wider City’s demands for digital, change and innovation and manage this delivery to our end users.
What is the job role?We are looking for a skilled and driven Project Manager on a fixed-term basis to support the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and aligned to organisational priorities.
This role will be critical in the development and delivery of our digital offer to families in Coventry, as we seek to ensure that all families can access the right help at the right time, as we take a Families First approach to all that we do. This also includes creating accessible and responsible digital pathways of support for our multi agency partnership, helping to reduce duplication and increase efficiency in how we deliver services to residents of Coventry. This is an exciting time to join this programme, which is a core component of our Families First Partnership programme and our Best Start Family hub offer, and to support our ambitious digital transformation programme to deliver at pace a range of digital solutions into our customer service facing platforms.
The role involves building strong relationships with internal teams, external partners and suppliers, while leading and motivating project teams within a matrix management environment.
This is a fixed term role to 31 March 2028.

Who are we looking for?We are seeking a proactive and highly organised individual with strong project management experience and a track record of delivering complex projects successfully.
You will bring:
- Proven ability to lead and manage digital and ICT projects across multiple workstreams using structured methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in research, benchmarking and process mapping
- Confidence in making informed decisions and presenting clear, compelling business cases
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
- Experience of working in a matrix management environment, leading cross-functional teams and directly line managing project support staff.
- A good understanding of financial management within projects and programmes
- A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes

Salary range
- £45,091 - £52,413 per year
