Enfield Council is a large London borough delivering essential services to a diverse community. We are committed to safeguarding vulnerable residents, promoting equality and ensuring public funds are managed responsibly and transparently. The Corporate Finance Hub supports Adult Social Care and wider council services by providing robust financial governance, statutory compliance and income protection, with the Deputyship Service playing a critical role in protecting some of the borough’s most vulnerable adults.
The ideal candidate will have experience in financial administration, banking or financial safeguarding, including direct contact with customers and exposure to complex cases. You will be confident managing your own workload and applying legislation, regulations and codes of practice in a practical setting. Strong numeracy, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work empathetically with vulnerable adults. Experience of liaising with external bodies such as the Office of the Public Guardian, Court of Protection, DWP, HMRC and financial institutions, and confidence using online banking, finance and case management systems, is highly desirable. You must be willing to undertake visits within the borough as required.
In addition to Enfield Council’s benefits package, we offer a supportive team environment with access to supervision, on‑the‑job learning and opportunities to develop specialist expertise in deputyship and financial safeguarding. This role provides meaningful public service work, clear accountability, and the opportunity to contribute directly to protecting vulnerable adults while building a strong foundation for progression within local government finance and safeguarding services.
