    About us:

Southfields Primary School is located in the diverse and vibrant community of Hillfields, Coventry. We are a two-form entry primary school with approximately 470 children on roll. We have a school nursery that caters for 48 children in both AM and PM sessions for pupils from the age of 3. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was graded as ‘Good’ in all areas.

Our pupil and staff body is incredibly diverse, with 52 languages spoken and 72% of the pupil body classed as having English as an Additional Language. This makes Southfields a wonderful place to work – ‘a haven for pupils’ (Ofsted: 2022). It is our diversity and desire to embrace everyone, that makes Southfields a very special place.

Our staff are dedicated, committed and relentless in their desire to ensure all pupils succeed and that there are no excuses as to why a child will not reach their potential. We believe that the time pupils spend at Southfields is critical to their early development and we have a clear vision for our pupils to be ready and excited to move on to their next stage of education.

We pride ourselves in a rigorous approach to self-improvement and are an outward-facing school that engages meaningfully with research-led practice. This has enabled us to rapidly develop skills in teaching and in the implementation of a high-quality curriculum. Southfields is more than just a school however, our approach to extra-curricular activities, whether it be trips or clubs, and to supporting our families ensures we are a hub for the community.

We believe in an ethic of excellence in all that we do. We don’t settle for second-best and are constantly innovative in all that we do. We have very high standards for behaviour in school and in attendance - with our figures for attendance being consistently above the national figure and in the top-3 in Coventry (July 2018).
