Due to our Deputy Headteacher being successfully appointed as a Headteacher, the governors and Headteacher at St Werburgh's Catholic Primary School and Nursery seek to appoint a dedicated school leader for the post of Deputy Headteacher.

St Werburgh's Catholic Primary School is a little oasis in the heart of Birkenhead. We are an integral part of the parish family of St Werburgh & St Laurence and work in close partnership with our families, governors and the wider community.

We are an inclusive, one form entry school with children ranging from age two to eleven years old.
We are extremely proud of our diverse, cultural heritage - celebrating the shared and varied experiences that bring us together under one roof.

As a school community, we work together to ensure that all our pupils aspire to become compassionate global citizens, 'sowing the seeds of goodness'. As a Christ centred community, we encourage each person to reach their full potential, striving for happiness in all aspects of school life.
We provide an exciting, experience-rich, high challenge curriculum which enables our pupils to learn and grow both academically, personally and spiritually. Our pupils love school, love learning and aspire to achieve great things.

The governors at St Werburgh's Catholic Primary School seek a Deputy Headteacher who:
Is a practising Catholic who is able to continue to maintain and further develop the Catholic life and mission of the school.

Is an excellent classroom practitioner who has a proven ability to enable all pupils to excel.
Is knowledgeable in curriculum development and has an outstanding understanding of the requirements of the National Curriculum and a strong pedagogy across the age ranges.

Has experience of leading Mathematics across a range of phases or has a strong passion to do so.
Has strong leadership skills and a proven track record of school improvement by leading staff through successful, sustained whole school initiatives.

Is a supportive leader who has a proven record of motivating and inspiring staff to develop and improve their own practice.

Has high expectations for all and is highly professional.
Shows initiative and is self-motivated.
Reads broadly and keeps up to date with Educational developments, reforms, policies and initiatives.

At St Werburgh's Catholic Primary School we can offer the successful candidate:
The experience of working in a Catholic primary school, committed to shared Christian values.
A warm and welcoming environment.
Fun-loving, kind, caring and engaging children.
A supportive team to work within.
A dedicated and supportive Governing Body.
Ongoing CPD opportunities.

'At the heart of St Werburgh's is the belief that everyone is unique in the eyes of God, and therefore everyone in the community is treated with dignity and respect.'
