
Deputy Electoral Services Manager
Job Description
OverviewThe Legal and Governance department are seeking to appoint to the permanent position of Deputy Manager for Electoral Services.This role requires an individual with the ability to lead the planning, management and delivery of all elections, the annual canvass and the production of the register of electors.
This is an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of Electoral Services in Harrow, as the election landscape has recently undergone some of the biggest changes in a generation. You will be required to uphold and demonstrate the Departmental values whilst ensuring the effective delivery of all services in compliance with relevant performance standards and best practice.
The successful applicant will assist in driving the service forward, developing policies, systems and innovative approaches that put Harrow at the cutting edge.

Interviews will take place on Friday the15th of August 2025.
About You
The Successful candidate will have:-
- Detailed and current working knowledge of election & electoral registration law, guidance and practice.
- Good project management skills.
- Ability to plan and manage a range of tasks to ensure that tight deadlines are met with clear thinking and pragmatic approach to administration and problem solving.
- High Degree of Knowledge of Electoral Commission Performance Standards.
- Extensive in-depth experience of working in an elections team including delivering the annual canvass & elections and supporting electoral registration.
- Experience of utilising electoral management software for example Xpress Register and Xpress management.
- Experience of writing reports and managing and compiling performance information.
- Experience of supervising, allocating tasks and motivating a team.
- Experience working in an electoral services environment on complex matters.

Salary range
- £45,117 - £60,414 per year
