About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and proactive Delivery Coordination Manager to lead the coordination of all activities affecting Derbyshire’s highways network. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient, integrated delivery across multiple teams and partners, minimising disruption, and maximising network performance and customer satisfaction.
You will oversee the forward programme of works, optimise road space management, and champion collaborative working across internal teams and external stakeholders. Using data-driven insights and innovative approaches, you’ll identify opportunities for joint delivery and ensure that all activities align with strategic objectives and statutory obligations.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, stakeholder engagement expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead strategic coordination of all planned works and interventions on the highways network.
• Maintain oversight of forward programmes and optimise road space using digital tools.
• Facilitate collaboration between internal teams and external partners to reduce disruption.
• Ensure compliance with legislation including the Traffic Management Act and NRSWA.
• Manage delegated budgets and provide accurate financial forecasting.
• Act as the main point of contact for external partners regarding forward programming.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement in delivery processes.
• Produce regular reports for senior managers and elected members.
• Deputise for the Head of Delivery Management in strategic forums and public engagements.
About You
• Significant experience in highways, utilities, or infrastructure coordination.
• Strong knowledge of programme and project management principles.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• High level of numeracy and analytical ability for financial and performance monitoring.
• Commitment to safety, sustainability, and collaborative working.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience managing complex programmes and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrable experience in financial management and performance reporting.
Desirable
• Membership of professional institutions (e.g., ICE, CIHT, IHE).
• Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and collaborative delivery models.
• Knowledge of procurement rules and public sector governance.

Salary range
- £49,178 - £52,937 per year
