Make an impact while you earn your degree
Join our Development Team as a Degree Apprentice in Software Development. You’ll learn to design, build and support real software used by colleagues and residents—while studying toward a BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions (Software Engineer) via our approved degree‑apprenticeship pathway.
What you’ll do
- Build great software: Design, develop, test and refine user‑centred applications using modern engineering practices and Agile ways of working.
- Go low‑code with impact: Create and enhance solutions on Microsoft Power Platform—Power Apps (canvas & model‑driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, and dashboards in Power BI—to streamline processes and improve services
- Work across the stack: Gain exposure to cloud services, integrations and DevOps practices, contributing to continuous improvement and secure delivery.
- Learn in live teams: Collaborate in multi‑disciplinary squads—taking part in stand‑ups, sprint reviews and show‑and‑tells—to turn ideas into working software.
What you’ll bring
- Curiosity about software development and the Power Platform, with logical problem‑solving and a can‑do attitude
- Entry qualifications for a Degree Apprenticeship, typically including GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4+) and UCAS points (or a completed Level 3 apprenticeship) meeting university entry criteria. (Final checks are completed with our university partner.)
- Great communication skills and the ability to work well in a team, with an interest in Agile, service management good practice and information security.
What you’ll gain
- A fully funded degree (BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions – Software Engineer) delivered alongside your role.
- Structured on‑the‑job training and mentoring from experienced developers, including hands‑on Power Platform delivery
- Hybrid working, a supportive learning culture and access to our employee benefits.
How to apply
Tell us why you’re excited about software development and the Power Platform, share examples of anything you’ve built (code, Power Apps, automations, school/college projects), and outline how this degree apprenticeship aligns with your goals. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a practical exercise and interview.
