Do you want to be part of a motivated and dynamic forward-thinking Digital, Data and Technology Team (DDaT)? How about getting opportunities to work with the latest technologies? Do you enjoy challenges and like to solve problems?

Following the successful migration to Cloud services the Council has widen its digital landscape by continuing to invest in modern digital platforms and now we have launched our journey to become a true data driven organisation – do you want to be part of shaping that journey?

About the role

We have begun to build our data infrastructure, using the latest cloud and PaaS technologies and due to the success of the projects so far we need to expand and are looking for a data engineer that will work on data transformation and integration projects using your skills with python and knowledge of database and data manipulation techniques to move data around and allow the creation of dashboards, deliver data to business applications and look at building use cases for AI.

Working in the Council’s DDaT Team you will be exposed to a wide variety of technologies, challenges, and opportunities to upskill. Working in a continuous improvement model - You will be part of a motivated and forward-thinking technology team and get the opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of the Council’s Digital Strategies, improve the Customer and Employee experience, and ensure that critical data is available.

This is a hybrid role which aims to be working in the office at least 2 days a week.

As the Council continues with the transformation agenda, this job role will continue to evolve to fit into the new working practices of the organisation.
