About the Role
Mid Sussex District Council is looking for a motivated and customer‑focused Customer Services Officer to join our busy and high‑performing Customer Services Team. As the first point of contact for residents, visitors, councillors, and service users, you will provide excellent customer service across a range of channels including telephone, email, online systems, and face‑to‑face support in our Customer Service Centre and Reception.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver high‑quality, accurate and efficient customer care at first point of contact.
- Support residents in navigating a wide range of council services.
- Use CRM and digital systems to log, resolve, and progress enquiries.
- Assist in coaching and mentoring new colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the council.
- Support ongoing digital transformation of customer services.
About You
We are looking for someone who is experienced in customer service, confident in using technology, calm under pressure, and committed to delivering excellent service.
Essential Requirements:
- GCSEs including Maths and English
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Strong communication and listening skills
Desirable:
- NVQ in Customer Service
- CRM experience
- Local Government experience
