Are you friendly, reliable and great at helping people?

We are looking for a part time Customer Service Advisor to join our friendly and supportive Customer Service Team.

We are looking for someone who can provide excellent customer service to residents, businesses and visitors to the Borough. The post will be mainly based at Long Eaton Town Hall, but applicants must be flexible to work at Ilkeston Town Hall when required as part of the team rota.

The hours of work are:

  • Tuesday and Wednesday - 12pm to 5pm
  • Thursday - 2pm to 5pm
  • Friday - 9.30am to 12:30pm

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Preparing to open the town hall reception and cashing up when reception closes.
  • Working in the contact centre and dealing with customer enquiries via phone and email, and face to face when working in reception.
  • Providing accurate and timely information and support in response to enquiries from members of the public about a wide range of council services.
  • Providing an effective and efficient service, taking and processing customer payments and helping customers to complete and access the council’s on-line forms.

What we are looking for:

  • You will be an excellent communicator with a strong commitment to customer service, with the ability to deal with customers in difficult situations, to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Being able to work as part of a team is essential with a positive attitude and the ability to take ownership of a problem to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • It is essential you can use a range of ICT systems for the efficient delivery of duties and responsibilities.
