About the role

As a Council Tax Billing Officer, you’ll make a real difference by keeping Council Tax information accurate, up to date and easy to understand. You’ll handle the full range of billing tasks — from processing discounts, exemptions and changes in circumstances to issuing timely bills — while providing clear, supportive customer service by phone, email and in person. Your work will help maximise income for essential local services and ensure residents receive a fair, efficient experience.

Additional information
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in a Revenues environment, ideally with a background in Council Tax billing and administration.
- A solid understanding of relevant legislation and procedures, with the ability to interpret complex rules accurately.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to explain billing information clearly and professionally to customers and stakeholders.
- Confidence using revenues systems (ideally MRI Revenues & Benefits) and Office 365 tools.

Salary range
- £34,203 - £37,067 per year
