We are recruiting 2 Core Advisors at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)

We pay an attractive salary of £61,106 - £65,097 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
Caerphilly County Borough Council is seeking to appoint a Core Advisor to support schools and educational settings by providing high quality support, advice and quality assurance. The role involves:
- providing challenge and support to school leaders.
- contributing to quality assurance processes.
- supporting the coordination of School Improvement Partners.
- Liaising with Local Authority officers and other external partners to ensure schools receive timely and appropriate support.
The postholder will lead on specific thematic or phase-related areas (e.g., curriculum, leadership development, inclusion), aligned to the education directorate’s strategic priorities and maintain effective working relationships with school improvement partners, school leaders, governors, and Local Authority officers to ensure schools are well supported and held to account.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification.
- Degree or equivalent.
- Effective self-evaluation skills, with the ability to support schools in identifying strengths, areas for development and appropriate next steps.
- Experience of working as a senior leader in a school setting (e.g., Headteacher, Deputy, Assistant Headteacher) and/or within a local authority or regional consortium in a school improvement capacity.
