About the role
Crawley is a great place to work, with a thriving business district and excellent transport connections including nearby Gatwick Airport. We are based in our modern Town Hall which opened in 2023 and is located a short walk from the town centre and railway station.
We are a stock retained authority with over 8,400 homes plus sheltered and hostel accommodation under our management, the stock is managed by the Crawley Homes division of the Council. We are passionate about the services we deliver and our commitment to building safety.
We are looking for a Contracts Manager who can:
- Conduct inspections, prepare budget estimates, drawings, and specifications for planned maintenance and built environment projects
- Liaise with contractors to ensure compliance with Term Partnering Contracts and promote collaborative working
- Maintain budgetary control over maintenance and construction projects
- Conduct site inspections for new builds and refurbishments, including health and safety checks
- Respond to technical and general enquiries from various sources
You need to be highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a very busy dynamic multi-skilled team, having the technical and professional skills to deliver the work as set out in the job description.
It would be an advantage, although not essential, if you have worked within a social housing maintenance/project management environment with a strong background in working on construction projects.

We offer hybrid working with a requirement to be in the Town Hall a minimum of two days per week
A full current UK driving licence will be a requirement of the role for which you will be deemed a ‘casual car user’ and can claim back milage for business use

Satisfactory clearance of a Basic Disclosure and Barring Checks will be a condition of employment
