Croydon Council is one of London’s largest boroughs, facing both challenges and opportunities in providing safe, secure, and good-quality housing. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Contract Management Team Leader to manage our temporary accommodation contracts, drive compliance, and ensure value for money in service delivery.
About the Role
As Contract Management Team Leader, you will:
- Lead and manage a team of Contract Management Officers and Business Support Officers.
- Oversee contract compliance and performance management of temporary accommodation providers, ensuring standards are met and statutory duties are delivered.
- Take responsibility for monitoring disrepair, property standards, and landlord performance, applying contractual controls when necessary.
- Work with internal teams, landlords, and external partners to improve service user experience and resolve issues effectively.
About You
We are seeking someone with:
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, including the Housing Acts, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and landlord/tenant law.
- Proven experience of contract management and compliance, ideally in temporary accommodation or housing services.
- Experience of leading, motivating, and developing a team to deliver service objectives and performance targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external providers.
- Strong analytical and IT skills, with the ability to monitor data, track performance, and drive service improvements.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach, with the resilience to work in a high-pressure environment.
