At Barnsley Council we’re making big changes to the places around us to benefit all who live and work here and so our commitment to ensuring high-quality learning, skills and employment support opportunities for young people and adults remains. That’s where you come in, ensuring efficient systems support, programme mobilisation, and effective contract and financial compliance under the Pathways to Work programme to maximise delivery and performance against the Services’ key contracts.

Pathways to Work has been selected as a trailblazer initiative in the UK Government’s Get Britain Working White Paper. Working alongside the other South Yorkshire local authorities and the Mayoral Combined Authority the proposals set out a strategy to enhance access for Barnsley’s economically inactive residents to highquality, sustainable employment. This approach is guided by the findings of the Barnsley-led Pathways to Work Commission. The delivery plans aim to support 10,000 South Yorkshire residents into work over the next four years. This approach will deliver personalised support to 2,200 people in Barnsley, so they can overcome barriers that prevent them from working, while improving their skills and employability.

Shape a better future with us

You must have an eye for detail and quality, and knowledge and experience of compliance, audit, and data management.
