An exciting opportunity has arisen for self-motivated individuals to join the Council’s Neighbourhood & Environment Department undertaking the delivery of its front line services and providing flexible support as part of the Integrated Front Line Service, delivering the Division’s work plans across the County Borough. The successful applicants will initially be delivering the front line service for waste & recycling but may also be required to be deployed into highway’s, street cleansing, grounds maintenance & bereavement services, all of which form the Integrated Front Line Service.

Essential requirements for the role include: 3 GCSE’s or equivalent qualification or demonstrable relevant work experience. Candidates should also be willing to work towards achieving an NVQ Level 1/2 qualification as part of the training plan, have the ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with members of the public and have an understanding of the Council’s work plans and challenges in meeting standards and public expectations. Candidates must also have Manual Handling experience and a willingness to attend relevant training as part of the induction/training plan.

The successful candidates should be able to work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative and be willing to undertake any training considered necessary for the post.

Successful candidates are expected to carry out unsocial hours’/bank holiday working as required by approved rotas and working practices.
