
Community Safety Officer
The Community Safety Team at Coventry City Council plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents. They work to address a wide range of issues, from crime prevention and anti-social behaviour to community cohesion. As a Community Safety Officer, you will play a key role in delivering strategies and action plans that reduce crime and disorder across Coventry. Working in partnership with the Coventry Community Safety Partnership and other agencies, you will ensure a coordinated response to protect victims and vulnerable adults, manage offenders effectively, and tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) throughout the city.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence community safety at operational levels, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including Section 17 of the Crime & Disorder Act 1998 and the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime & Policing Act 2014
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Detailed knowledge of legislation relating to community safety, including the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime & Policing Act and associated tools and powers.
- Understanding of case management principles to support victims and manage offenders effectively.
- Strong knowledge of community safety practice, national strategy, and crime reduction approaches.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage projects and initiatives in partnership with multiple agencies.
- Excellent communication skills, including delivering presentations and training.
- Substantial experience in a community safety or crime reduction role, including partnership working.

Salary range
- £39,152 - £46,142 per year
