About the role
At West Northants Council, it’s about our people and the opportunities we create together. As a Communications Intern, you’ll have the chance to kick-start your career in a fast-paced and creative communications environment, gaining valuable hands-on experience while supporting the promotion of services that make a real difference to local communities. Working as part of our Communications Team, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of specialisms including media relations, social media, marketing, internal communications and events, helping you build the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in communications.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their career who is eager to learn, develop new skills and make a meaningful contribution within a supportive and collaborative team.
Additional information
You’re enthusiastic, creative and keen to build a career in communications. You enjoy writing, have a good eye for detail and are confident communicating with a wide range of people. Whether through education, voluntary work, personal projects or previous experience, you have an interest in storytelling, social media and creating engaging content.
You’re someone who enjoys learning, takes initiative and can work both independently and as part of a team. Strong organisation skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to embrace new challenges will help you succeed in this role. Most importantly, you’ll share our passion for making a difference and bring energy, curiosity and creativity to everything you do, reflecting our THRIVE values and helping our communities to thrive.
