Job Description

Commissioning Officer - Children's Commissioning Team Salary: £45,624 - £52,038 per annum Grade F Permanent Contract 37 Hours per Week
The Children's Commissioning Team works with both internal and external partners, as well as with children, young people and their families, to secure the best possible services at the best available value for money. We judge our success both by how we improve outcomes for children and young people and how we improve value for money. We work creatively and with high aspirations for what is possible to redesign and implement excellent services across a wide range of children's services including SEND, Early Help and Children's Social Care (CSC) This Commissioning Officer role will work with the Lead Commissioner for CSC and operational leads as well as with children and their families. The aim of the work will be to create excellent provision including homes for children in care and support and accommodation for Care Leavers. You will work to secure these and other services at the best available value for money. You will also play a role in ensuring that as children's needs change, their care packages also change so that services remain excellent value. Key experience and skills needed:
  • Creative thinking
  • Project management
  • Partnership development
  • Understanding legislative and other requirements relating to the commissioning and procurement of services
  • Experience of commissioning, procurement and contract management

A Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
