Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.

We’re looking for a detail-focused and commercially aware professional to support how we control and manage significant housing investment. This is a great opportunity to step into asset management and play a key role in strengthening financial control, transparency and value for money.

Working within Strategic Asset Management, you’ll support commercial governance across Repairs, Compliance and Capital programmes ensuring costs are accurate, controlled and fully evidenced

    You will:

    • Maintain cost trackers, valuation logs and variation records across programmes
    • Check that costs, valuations and variations are justified and approved
    • Support accurate, auditable reporting on spend and forecasts
    • Assist with affordability checks and financial controls
    • Work with operational teams, Finance and Procurement to resolve cost queries
    • Support responses to audits, scrutiny and resident queries

    What we’re looking for

You’ll be organised, analytical and confident working with financial information, with:

    • Experience in commercial, procurement, finance or contract support
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and audit trails
    • Understanding of financial controls, governance and audit requirements
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and analyse data
    • Confident using Excel and producing clear reports
    • Ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues and improve transparency

This is an ideal role if you’re looking to develop your commercial career, gain exposure to high‑value programmes and build experience in a structured, supportive environment.

This role requires a minimum of 3 days per week office-based presence to support collaboration, oversight and engagement.
