About us
At Camden, we’re building somewhere everyone can thrive. That includes ensuring development happens responsibly and with care for local people, places, and the environment. As a CMP Planning Enforcement Officer, you’ll play a vital role in holding developers accountable and managing construction site impacts across the borough.
The role
As a CMP Enforcement Officer, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that construction activity across Camden takes place in line with agreed Construction Management Plans. You’ll manage a varied caseload of complaints and enforcement cases, carry out regular site visits, liaise with developers and contractors, and support the community in reducing construction-related disruption. You’ll also coordinate with internal services including highways, transport, legal, and environmental health, and represent the Council at the weekly Construction Management Forum.
This is a fast-paced and highly visible role, requiring a balance of on-the-ground presence and casework management. You’ll be instrumental in holding developers accountable while helping Camden deliver safe and responsible growth.
About you
You are confident, calm under pressure, and comfortable making decisions in complex and sensitive situations. You have a good understanding of planning enforcement or construction management practices and ideally hold relevant experience in town planning or a related field. You communicate clearly and professionally, whether working with residents, councillors, or contractors. Your approach is pragmatic, solution-focused, and driven by a strong sense of fairness and public service.
This is a great opportunity to take on a high-impact role and help ensure Camden remains a place where development works for everyone.
