The Headteacher and Governors of St. John’s C.E. Primary School are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic teacher to work in our school from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for energetic, talented and ambitious teachers with a passion for education and achievement to be part of the team at our school. The successful applicant will be teaching in our Year 6 class next year.

St. John’s is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled primary school with just under 160 pupils currently on roll. Our smaller than average size ensures a close knit school community where relationships are outstanding and key to everything we do. Our vision of J.O.Y in living and learning is lived out by everybody at St. John’s. We are immensely proud of our school and would love to welcome individuals who will help our drive for further improvements in the future!

We are looking for teachers who:

  • Are enthusiastic and committed to making a difference.
  • Ensure outstanding learning takes place
  • Are able to lead, inspire and motivate children and fellow staff
  • Have high expectations of learning, behaviour and pastoral care for all children.
  • Enjoy teaching and demonstrate the ability to create a stimulating learning environment for children and a determination to make learning fun and relevant.
  • Have excellent communication skills at all levels, are a team player and have a desire to raise standards.
  • Fit into the ‘St. John’s team’, embraces our vision of J.O.Y. (Jesus, Others, Yourself) and are able to bring their distinct personality and style to enhance the learning experience for all children and staff.

In return St. John’s can offer you:

  • A successful school with a strong, Christian ethos and values that respect the individual in all pupils, staff and wider school community
  • Happy, caring and enthusiastic children who give their all!
  • A dedicated team of experienced, supportive and professional staff and governors who are devoted to ensuring all children are given every opportunity to shine.
  • Outstanding relationships with our parents.
  • Well established links with our Church.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. As an employee you will have a responsibility for and must be committed to, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and for ensuring that they are protected from harm.
