An exciting opportunity has arisen at St Luke’s for an excellent class teacher to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team from 1st September 2025 and play a key role at the school. The contract is full time and temporary for one year in the first instance, teaching Year 3.

St Luke’s CE Primary School is a 4-11 years primary in Formby, Merseyside, an area well known for its stunning coastline, sand dunes, pinewoods and red squirrels and with a wide choice of good and outstanding primary and secondary schools. We have a friendly and enthusiastic Governing Body, well equipped to provide both challenge and support to continually improve and raise standards, and a staff team where everyone is valued.


We are seeking an inspirational, enthusiastic and talented teacher with proven outstanding practice and a strong commitment to raising standards. The successful candidate will:

  • be passionate about teaching, committed to ensuring each pupil achieves to their potential
  • have high standards of themselves, pupils and colleagues across school
  • have outstanding knowledge of National Curriculum
  • contribute to the fulfilment of school improvement priorities, ensuring that teaching and learning priorities are reflected in practice in the class s/he is responsible for
  • be accountable for achieving high standards in the class s/he is responsible for
  • be responsible for standards of behaviour / discipline and promote the well-being of pupils in the class s/he is responsible for
  • lead and manage a subject or area across the school (unless ECT)
  • show a commitment to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and participation in open days/PTA events
  • be committed to their continued professional development
