About the role

You will be based out of the district’s central car park office and be responsible for carrying out walking patrols of the car parks and streets across the district. Part of this role includes issuing penalty charge notices to vehicles if appropriate in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance, and good practice. Previous experience or knowledge of Traffic Regulations, legislation surrounding parking matters and principles of good enforcement is desired, but not essential as full training will be provided.

As part of the role you will be provided with professional development training in the City and Guilds Level 2 Qualification in Parking Enforcement (if you do not already hold this qualification) within your six months’ probation period.

You will work on a rota basis across a full week (Monday – Sunday).

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, work in a pro-active manner and able to provide excellent customer service in a dynamic environment. Good general IT skills are desired, with good attention to detail and the ability to keep clear and concise records. As this is a public-facing role, we are looking for strong verbal communicators who are able to interact with members of the public in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner. You will also need to remain calm under pressure and handle potentially challenging situations, resolving conflict in a sensitive and professional way.
