    About the Post:

    We’re excited to offer an opportunity to join our Environment and Transport Business Unit as a Civil Enforcement Officer. This role is part of our Commercial and Operational Service Support Team, where you’ll help ensure that parking regulations are followed fairly and consistently across Barnsley.

    As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you’ll:

    • Patrol streets and car parks to monitor compliance with parking regulations.
    • Issue penalty charge notices where necessary.
    • Provide clear, courteous advice to the public.
    • Support the smooth operation of on- and off-street parking services.
    • Help maintain safe, accessible streets for all road users.

    What We’re Looking For

    We’re seeking individuals who are:

    • Motivated and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility.
    • Confident communicators, able to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
    • Team players, who also work well independently.
    • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
    • Familiar with basic IT systems and handheld devices.

    Previous experience in enforcement or customer service is desirable, but not essential—we’ll provide full training for the right candidate.
