Our Change Team supports services to plan and deliver projects, service improvements and transformation work. We also provide a PMO function, helping the organisation track progress, manage risks and report clearly to senior decision‑making boards, including the QPI Board.

We’re looking for a permanent Change Officer who enjoys working across different projects, organising information, supporting delivery and helping teams turn plans into action.

You don’t need to have worked in local government before. If you’re organised, collaborative, curious and comfortable working with people and data, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a hybrid role, based in Stafford, with a mix of home and office working.

    We have 2x posts available - 1x 37hrs permanent and 1x 37hrs fixed term until 30th September 2027.

    Main Responsibilities

    In this role you'll:

    • Support the day‑to‑day delivery of change and project activity
    • Maintain project plans, logs, actions and reporting information
    • Contribute to PMO activity, including progress and exception reporting for the QPI Board
    • Support meetings and workshops, sometimes helping to facilitate sessions
    • Analyse information and data to support decision‑making
    • Track risks, issues and benefits and escalating when needed
    • Prepare clear reports and presentations for different audiences
    • Work positively with stakeholders across services

(PMO = Project Management Office; QPI Board = a senior forum overseeing quality, performance and improvement)

    The Ideal Candidate

    We're looking for someone who:

    • Has experience supporting projects, service improvement or change activity
    • Is comfortable working with information, data and reports
    • Is a clear communicator with good written and verbal skills
    • Is well organised and able to manage competing priorities
    • Is confident using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Are able to build positive working relationships
    • Enjoys working as part of a team and supporting delivery

    Transferable skills are welcomed.
