Lea Green is one of the UK’s leading outdoor education and residential centres. We are seeking an experienced outdoor education manager with a proven track record of running busy, complex outdoor centres and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Working alongside a co‑manager, you will provide operational leadership, safety‑critical oversight and strategic direction across all programmes, activities and residential provision. You will ensure legal and safety compliance, maintain high‑quality delivery, manage staff performance, oversee facilities and equipment, and support commercial growth.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Significant management experience in an outdoor education centre, including staff leadership and operational oversight
  • Strong knowledge of safety management, safeguarding and relevant legislation
  • Experience of residential provision and working with young people with diverse and additional needs
  • A minimum of three NGB awards for AALA regulated adventurous activities
  • A relevant degree/teaching/JNC qualification and a full driving licence

Pay & Benefits

  • Salary (DCC Grade 12): £44,433–£47,925 (Grade 12 pay points 28-31)
  • Annual leave: 27 days, rising to 32 days after 5 years’ service (excluding bank holidays)
  • Pension: Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)

This role requires flexible working, including evenings and weekends (5/7 rota).
