Location: East Carlton Country Park & Corby Woodlands
Contract: Casual (as and when required)

Salary: £16.35ph

Are you passionate about the outdoors, wildlife, and helping people enjoy green spaces safely? We are looking for a Casual Ranger to support the management and maintenance of East Carlton Country Park and Corby Woodlands.

This is a flexible, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working outside in all seasons and contributing to the care of our valued country parks and natural spaces.

About the Role

As a Casual Ranger, you will assist the Senior Ranger and Ranger team with a wide range of countryside management and visitor engagement tasks, helping to keep the parks safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general site maintenance, including paths, fencing, signage, and infrastructure
  • Assist with practical habitat management (woodland, grassland, conservation work)
  • Support litter picking and site cleanliness
  • Engage with visitors, providing information and promoting responsible use of the sites
  • Help with events, activities, and volunteer sessions where required
  • Report issues relating to safety, maintenance, or anti-social behaviour
  • Operate tools and equipment safely (training provided where necessary)

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working outdoors in a practical role
  • Has an interest in countryside management, conservation, and parks
  • Holds relevant qualifications or certification in the safe use of tools and equipment (desirable)
  • Is reliable, flexible, and able to work on short notice
  • Has good communication and customer service skills
  • Can work independently or as part of a team
  • Holds a full UK driving licence (Essential)
  • Essential: Previous experience in a similar role, coupled with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
