Salary:
- Standard Casual Tutor: £22.76 per hour including holiday pay at 12.07%.
- Accredited Casual Tutor: £25.61 per hour including holiday pay at 12.07%.
- Skills for Life Tutor: £28.45 per hour including holiday pay at 12.07%.
- Casual Support Tutor/Casual Learning Support Worker; £12.62 per hour including holiday pay at 12.07%.
In addition you may be invited to attend meetings/training to ensure your continuous professional development, for which you may be paid at the support rate of £12.62 per hour.
Casual Adult Tutor
We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Casual Adult Learning Tutors for a number of areas including Functional Skills Maths, Functional Skills English, ESOL and Digital Skills to support delivery across Blackburn with Darwen.
We are specifically seeking a tutor with excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of delivering to adult learners, helping them to develop confidence, achieve qualifications and progress into further learning, employment or apprenticeships.
Delivery of our provision takes place within our learning centres and across a wide range of community venues, partner organisations and schools.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Design and deliver engaging, innovative and inclusive teaching and learning.
- Motivate, support and challenge learners to achieve their full potential.
- Deliver Functional Skills from Entry Level through to Level 2.
- Deliver ESOL from Pre-entry to Level 1
- Deliver ICT/Digital Skills courses.
- Assess learner progress effectively and provide constructive feedback.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learner needs and abilities.
- Support learners to develop their confidence, employability and everyday skills.
The successful candidate will have experience of working within adult and community learning and a good understanding of quality assurance processes, including:
- Observations of Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLAs).
- Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA).
- Learner assessment, tracking and target setting.
- Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
Essential Requirements
- Experience of delivering adult learning.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
- Experience of teaching adult learners.
- Commitment to high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
