SCHOOL CARETAKER

Required from ASAP

BFC Grade BG-I scp 6-9 - £13.84 - £14.50 ph inc fringe

Hours 30 hours per week – 52 weeks per year with paid holiday

7.30-11.30am(with a 15 min break) and 1.30-3.45pm

There is also a possibility for an additional 5 hrs per week 12-1pm as a Lunchtime Support Assistant for the right candidate

Additional hours paid for call outs/lettings and events

The Headteachers and Governors are looking to appoint a highly committed, conscientious and self-motivated person who will ensure our school is a safe, clean and healthy environment for our pupils and staff to learn, work and thrive in and who is a responsible and pro-active person who takes pride in their work and has good DIY skills, with health and safety a priority at all times.

  • Is committed to providing a safe, clean and attractive environment

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of the site, including the building and grounds and some cleaning
  • Health & safety, including record keeping and policies i.e risk assessments
  • Site security
  • Ordering and maintaining cleaning and maintenance stock
  • Responsibility for opening and closing the school sites outside of school hours for lettings and other school events which include a Saturday morning letting
  • Liaising with contractors on site to complete projects effectively.

It is desirable but not essential that the successful applicant has previous experience of working in a school or similar environment

Main duties will include:

  • Site and buildings maintenance and security-principle key holder
  • Undertake minor repairs and cleaning
  • All aspects of health and safety including heating, lighting and water
