We are recruiting a Caretaker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 20 Hours (Monday – Friday 4 hours per day. 07:00 – 09:00 & 15:30 – 17:30)
Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term until 31st March 2027
Location: Fleur de Lys Primary School

The Federated Governing Body of Fleur de Lys and Pengam Primary Schools is seeking to appoint a Caretaker for Fleur de Lys Primary School, to work as part of a friendly, hard-working team.

We are looking for a caretaker who is committed to the provision of maintenance, cleanliness and security on our school premises. We require someone who is able to build strong professional relationships with staff and children and is dedicated to ensuring that our school is a clean and orderly working environment.

The successful candidate will have health and safety responsibilities including maintaining the school building and grounds in a safe condition and working in a safe manner. As part of these duties there will be a requirement to carry out and record periodic health and safety checks, other duties will include decoration and improvement work. Staff want a colleague who is enthusiastic, motivated and hard-working.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • Awareness of health and hygiene procedures.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of cleaning procedures required to meet specified cleaning standards.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults
