We are recruiting a Caretaker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 12
Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term for 12 months
Location: Trecenydd Community Centre

Team: Sport and Leisure Services


This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £8,168 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be expected to work a minimum of 12 hours duty per week but may be required to work in excess of this figure dependent upon centre usage. There will be a need for continuous evening / weekend work and late-night lock up requirements. It will be essential that the post holder can access the centre quickly and typically several times per day.

The post requires a good knowledge of a) health and safety, b) safe cleaning methods c) manual handling and d) the use of mechanical cleaning appliances. The job entails significant manual handling in preparing the venue for use by user groups.

Although employed by Caerphilly County Borough Council, the post holder will be required to work closely with the voluntary management committee which manages the day to day running of the Centre.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • The ability to work alone and unsupervised.
  • Experience in general caretaking and cleaning duties.
  • Availability and ability to access centre quickly.
