    Grade 4 Salary £30,630 - £32,931pa

    To contribute to quality of life for estate residents by maintaining a safe and secure estate, ensuring that the estate is clean and well maintained. This will assist in preserving the estates assets in a proper manner.

    Caretakers will visit estates on a daily basis ensuring there is a presence on site, acting as a focal point for information queries and complaints, seeking to report or resolve issues swiftly to the satisfaction of estate residents.

    As part of our estate services, we ensure communal areas in and around flats and maisonettes are kept clean and tidy, addressing any environmental issues such as rubbish and recycling. We remain vigilant for the well-being of elderly and vulnerable residents, swiftly removing health hazards like syringes and arranging for the prompt removal of graffiti—especially offensive content, which is cleared within 24 hours. We report communal repairs and work closely with Resident Services and Anti-Social Behaviour Teams, we help tackle anti-social behaviour. Our duties also include sweeping, litter picking, removing fly tipping, responding to emergencies, assisting sheltered housing schemes with bulk item clearances, and coordinating targeted estate clearances in partnership with other services.

    ABOUT YOU

    The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of others using appropriate methods. It involves building and maintaining positive relationships with tenants, being open to new ideas, and valuing different perspectives. The individual should act as a role model, demonstrating good equalities practice and adhering to relevant Health and Safety legislation. Practical cleaning duties must be carried out efficiently, with the ability to work independently, plan and prioritise tasks, and meet specific targets. The role also demands effective problem reporting, both written and verbal communication skills, and familiarity with IT systems and apps. Teamwork is essential, along with basic numeracy and literacy, to successfully fulfil the responsibilities outlined in the job description. The role requires a full manual UK driving license.
