Starting Salary: £25,583 opportunity to progress to £28,142 per annum (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 37.0 (may be considered as 2 x 18.5-hour part-time positions

Our Business Support Service is looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organised individual who can ensure that a high level of administrative support is provided to our departments.


Our Business Support Service is a centralised unit which has been formed to deliver a co-ordinated, consistent, and high-quality service supporting service delivery across the organisation. Business Support is critical to ensuring our departments can support services to our residents, and if you have great administrative skills and a strong customer focus, you could be part of it.


You’ll be working as part of the central Business Support Service with more than 400 colleagues, and you’ll be supporting our departments to ensure they are able to deliver critical services to the residents of Hertfordshire.

About the role

This role is based at our Hemel Hempstead Young People’s Centre and involves working in a front-of-house environment, where there may be some travel involved. You will provide essential administrative and reception support, including preparing and sending correspondence, taking minutes, ordering supplies, and overseeing visitors to site.

As a key member of the team, you will play an important role in supporting Services for Young People, helping colleagues to carry out their work effectively.

About you

Essential:

  • Proven experience in an administrative or support role
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a range of audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
  • Experience in working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to plan own work over short timescales for routine or familiar tasks and processes and use your initiative to work independently.
  • GCSE or Vocational equivalent, strong numeracy, and literacy skills
  • Enthusiasm and pride in your work are qualities we welcome.
  • Minute/note taking

Desirable:

  • You will be used to working to tight deadlines and with high accuracy in written correspondence. Experience in taking notes would be beneficial,
