About the role
Our team supports a diverse range of individuals, including older adults, vulnerable people, those with physical, sensory or cognitive impairments, and individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
We are passionate about promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for the people we support. Every conversation matters, and you will often be speaking with people who may be distressed, anxious or facing challenging circumstances.
Working closely with Adult Social Care Community Teams, you will provide essential administrative and coordination support, maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and ensure that information is shared efficiently and effectively. Your attention to detail, emotional intelligence and organisational skills will help ensure customers receive the right support at the right time.
Additional information
You will possess excellent verbal communication and active listening skills. Clearly, professionally and empathetically, particularly when supporting people who may be vulnerable, distressed or facing challenging circumstances. Comfortable gathering information, asking appropriate questions and accurately recording details to ensure customers receive the right support at the right time.
The successful candidate will be resilient and able to remain calm under pressure, effectively managing sensitive or complex enquiries while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
A commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and handling sensitive information appropriately is essential, as is an understanding of the importance of treating people with dignity, respect and fairness.
We are looking for someone who is confident using technology and IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook and Word, and who can work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to support positive outcomes for our customers.
You will hold GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate the literacy and numeracy skills required to perform effectively in the role.
The Following Would Be Advantageous
- A background in Adult Social Care, Health Services, the NHS, Local Government or another people-focused service.
- An appreciation of adult safeguarding, risk management and supporting people to live independently and safely.
- An understanding of community services, care pathways and the support available to adults and their families.
- Familiarity with Adult Social Care systems such as Liquidlogic, Magic Notes or similar case management platforms.
- Strong organisational skills, including, preparing agendas, recording accurate minutes and following up actions.
- The ability to process invoices, payments, claims and purchase orders accurately, supported by strong Excel skills.
- An appreciation of the importance of confidentiality, GDPR compliance and maintaining high-quality records.
