
Business Support Officer
The Role
Our Adoption London South – Regional Adoption Agency is looking for a dedicated Business Support Officer to join our team.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Business Support Officer to work within our South West Assessment Team for Adopt London South, supporting administration and key functions for supporting adoptive families and their journey.
You will join a Specialist Adoption Service, providing business support to social work practice and responding to potential adopters. The role of the Business Support is to provide a hub and be the first point of contact for Adopt London South. The role is based at Tooley Street, covering the South West area of London but currently working mostly remotely Adopt London South cover 10 boroughs, working closely with colleagues across South London, occasionally covering a rota and coming into the office and for Team meetings and Service Days.
We are looking for someone with sound administrative skills, the ability to collect/analyse data, along with excellent communication skills. In addition, the post holder will need to support the teams with administration support and enquiries relating to all aspects of adoption and have a good understanding of confidentiality.
A priority for ALS and the LAs is to reduce delay for children, particularly of Black and minoritised ethnic backgrounds, and especially boys who wait the longest for new families
About you:
- Looking for someone with experience in administrative work, experience of with Local Authority would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of budgets, raising purchase orders, invoices and finance systems
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and packages, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.,)
- Work on own initiative and as a Team Member across Business Support
- Awareness and experience of working with a range of people from diverse communities
- Experience in using Case Recording systems
- Ability to interpret and analyse information, essential in meeting targets
- Record keeping and maintain house styles
- Ability to take minutes, report writing and respond to general correspondence
