    This role sits within our busy Business and Executive Support team where you'll play a key role in ensuring a consistent high-level of business support across the organisation.

    We are a team of 30, based at Springvale in Cannock.

    We support a number of teams within the Children and Families Service whose mission is to create an environment where families are supported to stay together safely and live well in their communities.

    It's a varied role and no two days are the same so we always have to be ready to adapt when demands change.

    The post is fixed term for 12 months.

    Main Responsibilities

    Some of your responsibilities will include,

    • Being a first point of contact for practitioners so that children, families, partners, and stakeholders are provided with a professional/knowledgeable response to enquiries in a timely manner. From time to time, this will also include Customer Services tasks.
    • Completing a range of administrative tasks including creating documents, administrative support for meetings, coordinating the circulation of agendas and relevant papers.
    • Accurately inputting and maintaining appropriate information systems
    • Undertaking a range of financial transactions such as placing orders for services/equipment, goods receipting and maintaining records
    • Providing support advice and guidance to practitioners in the use of the IT and related software including basic induction into systems and processes

    Flexibility is also required to address business needs, and we may require you to transfer to alternative teams within the service following appropriate consultation.

    Full training in the use of equipment and our systems and procedures will be given.


    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for you to,

    • Have GCSE English and Math’s grade C or 4 or equivalent
    • Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills at all levels as you will be liaising with a range of professionals and members of the public
    • Be able to accurately input and retrieve data to support performance management
    • Have a flexible approach and able to respond positively to changes in allocation of work at short notice
    • Have excellent time management and organisational skills with an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and on own initiative
    • Be comfortable working within a team, with good interpersonal to be able advise other staff within the office on IT related issues
    • Good numerical skills with attention to detail
