    Business and Executive Support is a professional central support function within the Corporate Operations Team, providing consistent, high-quality business support across Staffordshire County Council. We are looking for a Business Support Administrator to help deliver a timely, customer-focused service, supporting colleagues and stakeholders and helping the service to operate efficiently as demands change. You will initially be supporting Health & Care services and is a fixed term position for 18 months from start date.

    Please note whilst this role is being advertised as a Business Support Assistant, the job description for this role is called Business Support Administrator.

    Main Responsibilities

    Main Responsibilities include:

    • Provide timely, high-quality administrative and business support to the service.
    • Interacting with internal and external customers through spoken and electronic means, and providing timely responses as required.
    • Maintain accurate records, including statistics and computer-based systems for data input and retrieval.
    • Handle correspondence and keep pending, filing and information systems organised and up to date.
    • Support financial administration, including processing transactions through the Council’s finance and procurement system and maintaining financial records.
    • Produce documents such as letters, reports and statistical tables/graphs using Microsoft Office applications
    • Convene and support meetings by coordinating agendas, papers and recording accurate minutes and actions.
    • Provide practical support for events and workshops (e.g., invitations, venues, catering, equipment and administration).
    • Operate service systems in line with agreed procedures and retention schedules.
    The Ideal Candidate
    • Experience of working in an office environment, with strong customer service skills.
    • Confident using a wide range of PC software, including Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, spreadsheets/databases) and/or bespoke internal systems.
    • Experience of financial systems and processes.
    • Ability to collate and interpret information from different sources and produce accurate reports.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
    • Strong time management skills, with the ability to achieve targets and respond flexibly to changing circumstances.
    • Professional, reliable and discreet, with an understanding of confidentiality.

    Shortlisting is scheduled for 3/6/26 and interviews will be held on 11/6/26.
