Are you ready to kick-start your career in public service while gaining a nationally recognised qualification? Ashford Borough Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Business Support Apprentice.

This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a strong foundation in business administration while contributing to vital services that support our community.

As a Business Support Apprentice, you will provide essential administrative support across a wide range of services including:Private Sector Housing
Licensing
Environmental Protection
Infectious Diseases
Skin Piercing
Public Health
Food Safety
Health & Safety at Work
Insurance

You will be responsible for responding to customer enquiries via phone and email, along with Data inputting as well as:

Report preparation
Supporting licensing and insurance processes
Assisting with financial procedures and procurement
Liaising with internal teams and external agencies
Helping to maintain accurate records and databases
Contributing to website updates and service improvements

You will need to be committed to personal development as you will be required to study for Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship where full support will be provided to help you succeed in your training and development.

It is essential that you have strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as:

Having the ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
Being organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks

If you already have experience in customer-facing roles and have a familiarity with local government or administrative environments then that would be desirable.
