    Wychavon District Council has a rare opportunity for a professional Building Surveyor to join our busy Property and Projects team.You will play a significant role by managing and delivering refurbishment and renovation projects for all council owned properties.You will assist the Senior Building Surveyor to improve standards for all built assets making them sustainable, energy efficient, safe, and compliant.You will take lead with the management of repair and maintenance for all built, mechanical, and electrical assets, working to a robust planned preventive works programme whereby undertaking building fabric condition surveys, producing feasibility study reports, drawings, specifications, and technical advice as required.

    About you

    The successful candidate will:

    • Prepare design drawings, specifications, pre-tender safety plans and obtain permissions for the extension, alteration and refurbishment works to the Councils operational buildings.
    • Manage capital projects of up to £2m value on behalf of the council and third party organisations.
    • Undertake the preparation of condition surveys and identify and programme planned and cyclical maintenance schedules.
    • To manage building repair works, commission and place orders for repairs and supervise them through to completion
    • To produce interim and full dilapidation surveys
    • To prepare and undertake decarbonisation solutions for Council properties
    • To support the Senior Building Surveyor with the delivery of the Capital programme
