We’ve been working hard as an organisation to ensure data is a recognised as a strategic asset and redefining how we use our data. To enable this, we’ve launched a new operating model for Business Intelligence. Our service is built on the principles of Enabling Barnsley-encouraging innovation, empowering services to self-serve, and allowing our BI experts to focus on high-impact work that delivers tangible benefits for our organisation and its communities.

We’re excited to be moving to Microsoft Fabric in the coming months, unlocking new possibilities for single view and end to end analysis, automation and scalable insight delivery. Our team is already embracing Copilot and other AI driven tools, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in local government intelligence.
What You’ll Do
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into BI solutions that drive outcomes
· Lead the design and delivery of performance dashboards, predictive models and data visualisations that inform strategic and operational priorities
· Champion innovation and continuous improvement, helping services unlock the power of their own data
· Deliver insights that provide hindsight, insights, and foresight, supporting evidence-based decisions aligned to the Council Plan and Barnsley 2030.

Salary range
- £47,181 - £50,269 per year
