About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate

Details:

Sutton College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Beauty Therapy Tutor to deliver the Beauty Therapy Studies Level 2 Diploma (VTCT).

You will support learners to develop the practical skills needed in the Beauty industry so they achieve a high level of occupational ability and can perform their own salon services. You will also develop learners’ knowledge of health and safety practice.

The post holder will teach onsite at the college. They will ensure high-quality delivery through the implementation of quality assurance processes and contribute to the college’s growth by supporting a vibrant curriculum and aim to achieve excellent learner outcomes. Additionally, the role involves assisting with focused curriculum development, personalised employment support, and learner progression. The post holder will help meet the college’s strategic goals, especially targeting priority groups under the Adult Skills Fund, and will collaborate with the Head of Curriculum & Quality to deliver a high-quality programme aligned with learner and employer needs.

You should have a passion for teaching, good subject and industry knowledge, and a desire to develop and enhance learners’ opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Teaching in Adult Education or Further Education Post 16 college/ training environment
  • Experience of teaching a range of levels in the subject area
  • Experience of quality improvement processes which support and develop practice

Professional Experience

  • An appropriate teaching qualification for the Post 16 Sector (e.g. DET / Cert. Ed. or equivalent) and/or willingness to complete a L4 qualification within the 1st year of appointment
  • A qualification in the subject specialism (to at least Level 4 e.g. HND, 1st Degree), or an in-depth knowledge and a minimum of 3 years’ substantial experience in the subject area you are applying for

● Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) qualifications in English & Mathematics.
