Are you a great communicator, with experience of leading from the front and a passion for working in the arts?

We are looking for someone like you to join our team! You’ll be responsible for operations during events and shows, to help ensure the building is operating safely. You will be responsible for the smooth opening, running and closing of the building. This casual role will mostly consist of evening work, you will lead the Welcome Team to provide a warm, friendly and professional welcome to all audience and event attendees.


What will be the key responsibilities?

  • To manage the safe public operation of BEAM, delivering our broad programme of films and live entertainment.
  • To be the open, friendly, knowledgeable face of BEAM.
  • To ensure the smooth running of operations throughout the venue, and to take responsibility for the health, safety & wellbeing of all visitors and staff.
  • Ensuring safe evacuation of the entire building (members of the public and staff) in the event of an emergency; liaison with emergency services.
  • To motivate the Welcome Team in the delivery of an outstanding customer experience.


About you

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills, including GCSE passes at grade A-C (or equivalent qualification) in English and Maths and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working in a supervisory or management role in a busy, public-facing hospitality, retail or arts and culture environment.
  • Energy and enthusiasm to work in a busy arts environment, with a can-do attitude.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and evacuation requirements.
  • Experience of using an EPOS system
