What You'll Be Doing
- Set up, operate and troubleshoot AV, lighting, sound, IT and webcasting systems.
- Deliver seamless technical productions, anticipating and solving issues with calm professionalism.
- Transport, rig and de-rig AV equipment across multiple Southwark sites.
- Independently run events – from internal meetings to large-scale corporate functions.
- Liaise with clients to capture requirements, propose solutions, and upsell services where appropriate.
- Plan technical operations: pre-programming lighting and sound desks, preparing presentations, and managing event logistics.
- Maintain AV equipment, software and service records, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Respond to helpdesk tickets quickly, diagnosing and fixing faults to keep services running.
What We're Looking For
- Subject matter expertise in sound, lighting, video or IT – plus solid knowledge across the rest.
- Live events experience, with confidence in fault-finding and hands-on maintenance.
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift and transport AV equipment safely.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health & safety best practices in AV environments.
- Strong knowledge of modern Audio-Visual systems, trends, and event technology.
- Substantial hands-on AV and event production experience – ideally in-house or with an AV supplier.
- Proven track record in managing sound, lighting, and IT for large-scale events.
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, from AV technicians to senior executives.
- Sharp problem-solving ability with an eye for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office proficiency and the ability to get the best from digital tools.
