We are a large, inclusive primary school that proudly serves the local community, catering for children from 2 years old to 11 years old. We incorporate two resource bases for students with moderate learning difficulties. We are a school committed to developing our children, families, staff, and our local Church community. The Governors and Headteacher warmly welcomes applications to join our friendly, happy and thriving school.
We are seeking to appoint an energetic, skilled and caring professional to liaise with pupils, parents and school staff to both identify and address attendance issues. Our attendance officer is expected to monitor attendance daily; complete 'first response' by contacting parents about unexplained absences; be able to both support and challenge where poor attendance is identified; have a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities; and liaise with professionals. The candidate must be able to make home-visits. Importantly, our attendance officer must aspire to good attendance for all pupils and take a proactive approach, using data to identify potential issues and, through early intervention, work with families to resolve issues and remove barriers BEFORE attendance becomes a source of concern.

- Is enthusiastic; committed to making a difference and understands the importance of good attendance in improving children's life chances
- Is able to use computer system to generate data and use data to improve outcomes (training will be provided)
- Is organised, efficient and able to work in a busy environment
- Has the ability to support, but also to challenge, and is tenacious in approach
- Has a high expectation of care for all children and an understanding of school safeguarding requirements
- Has excellent communication skills at all levels, is a team player and has a desire to raise standards
We can offer you:
- Highly committed, talented, enthusiastic and professional staff
- Children who are eager to learn
- A commitment to continuous professional development
