    We’re looking for a proactive and motivated Attendance Officer to join our warm and caring pastoral team. At Broad Oak, we’re all about supporting our children in a safe, nurturing environmentand this role plays a key part in helping every child get the most out of their learning.

    You’ll be working closely with our Senior Leadership Team to help improve attendance and make sure all our children have the best chance to succeed. If you’re patient, positive, and passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

    Required as soon as possible

    We’re looking for someone who:

    • Has a good understanding of attendance strategies in primary schools
    • Has experience supporting children with barriers to learning
    • Is hardworking, flexible and able to manage time well
    • Can build strong relationships with children, families and staff
    • Works well within a team and connects with our wider school community
    • Provides excellent support to all pupils
    • Believes in and supports our inclusive ethos
    • Has good literacy and numeracy skills
    • Shows initiative and a proactive approach to their work
    • Is committed to safeguarding and keen to continue developing professionally
    • Is confident using IT systems to manage and record data (training will be provided)

    What the role involves:

    • Daily monitoring and updating of registers
    • Making phone calls and home visits as part of our First Day response system
    • Preparing and analysing attendance data to share with school leaders and external agencies
    • Supporting vulnerable pupils to improve attendance and punctuality
    • Sharing attendance expectations across the school community
    • Handling leave of absence requests and keeping accurate records
    • Working with the pastoral team to prepare reports for meetings
    • Helping Senior Leaders tackle attendance issues and put supportive measures in place
