
Assistant Registration Service Manager (Additional Superintendent Registrar)
37 hours per week Monday - Friday, plus 80 hours per annum contractual overtime (worked on Saturdays). On call duties over weekends worked on a rota basis (usually 1 in 4 weekends and tied in with Saturday working).

Your New Role
The main purpose of the role is to assist the Superintendent Registrar in the delivery of the Registration Service, contributing to the successful development of and public access to the service. The role will be responsible for the day to day management of the service and the registration team including identifying and leading on training, 1:1's, development reviews, timetabling etc.
The role will work with the Head of Service to ensure that a high quality and consistent service is delivered through customer engagement, whilst finding innovative solutions for improvement and development. As well as deputising when required, the role will support the Superintendent Registrar in the delivery of the corporate and service priorities and business plans. You will contribute and assist in the production of service delivery plans and ensure corporate and statutory KPI targets are met whilst highlighting foreseeable issues and offering solutions where appropriate. You will also ensure that the service adheres and complies with legislative requirements and regulations.
Collaborative working is a key aspect of the role as you will be working with venues and other partners and will be required to creatively establish and managing a marketing plan for ceremonies taking place at Milldam House. You will also partake in the out of hours duty rota, providing advice and support to the busy ceremony teams as well as covering for staff when required.
Who is the person summary:
As well as either holding the National Accredited Programme for Registration Officers or be willing to undertake this, you will have experience of working with and managing a team preferably across multi-sites. With an understanding of the registration service and local government you will be flexible and creative with excellent organisational, communication and networking skills.It is essential that you have experience of registering births and deaths as well as knowledge of the statutory and non-statutory services provided by the Registration Service. You will have experience of event management, marketing and communication and working as part of a management team to help bring the vision of the service to life. With excellent IT skills, accuracy, an attention to detail and neat handwriting, you will be flexible, patient, tactful and empathetic as you will be dealing with people who may be in a highly emotional state in sometimes difficult situations. You will also have the understanding of health and safety compliance as well as the ability to understand complex legislation.
